Situation:
Joanne and I traveled to Kona, Hawaii with Ginger and Kurt for a vacation and to cheer on Ginger at the Ironman World Championships. Ginger is an outstanding athlete and kicked serious butt, finishing 3rd in the W25-29 age group on one of the all-time toughest weather conditions athletes have experienced. One day Joanne and I hope to return to Kona as participants!

Trip:

Our first day in Kona, HA. We saw Natasha Badmann a few moments earlier.

Hawaii is beautiful!

Chi Chi's. Joanne and I discovered this drink on the first day and consumed it throughout the trip.

I look goofy, but Joanne is HOT!

Heading off in the distance.

Ginger and Kurt starting the day with a healthy breakfast. Well, at least Ginger is.

A star panel talked about Ironman and the race. Joanne's favorite athlete is Macca in the middle. I love all the women equally, except the cheater.

Joanne and I made these signs to hang up on the bike course for Ginger during the race.

There were very few other signs out there. The women in 25-29 new not to mess with Ginger.

These are our hand held signs that Joanne made. So professional.

Here I am with my training buddy idol. Ginger dominated 2004 on her way to Kona in a break out year.

Yeah, she's the boss!

And their off. The Ironman swim start is an amazing site.

Enough spectating, let's EAT!

Kurt and I check out the competition. We provided reports to Ginger throughout the race.

She's so fast, it's blurry.
